The Long Reach Theatre Arts Department proudly presents two comedies for the price of one! This fall production opens November 8 after school at 3:30 and features Check Please, followed by Black Comedy.

Check Please chronicles a guy and a girl on a series of blind dates – and it’s hard – especially when your date is a raging kleptomaniac or a phobic hypochondriac.  Will this guy and girl ever find true love?

Black Comedy tells the comical story of a sculptor Brindsely struggling to sell his art. He and his fiancé Carol, plan a party to impress Carol’s militaristic father, and a millionaire George Bamberger. Staged with a reverse lighting plot, the play opens on a dark stage (characters acting as if the lights are on). When a fuse blows, the stage illuminates to reveal the characters in a “blackout”. Only the audience can ‘see’ the comedy that ensues in the ‘dark’.

Both comedies open after school on Thursday, November 8 at 3:30,  with the LRHS improv team, Failure to Communicate, performing before the curtain from 2:30-3:20.  Performances continue Friday and Saturday November 9 and 10 at 7PM and close with a Sunday matinee on November 11 at 2 PM. Tickets are $7.50 online at https://lrhsmd.booktix.com/ or at the door for $8. For additional information please email director [email protected]
